Eclipse, W520R-8 Mid-Woofer
A nice 5.25″ mid-woofer from Eclipse that is made in the USA. This unit features a polypropylene cone with rubber edge on a cast aluminum frame. The pole piece is capped with copper to reduce distortion. It has a 1″ voice coil and 20oz magnet.
Apologies to router impaired for the oddly shaped frame, but does match the Aurum Cantus frames and makes stacking for line arrays a bit easier.

Curt Campbell says:
“That little midwoofer is a real trooper. I’ve been able to play it very loudly with no signs of distress. Â It also gets down to 40 Hz with authority. This is pretty impressive for a 5.25” driver. Nice sound, lots of detail. -More reminiscent of a hard cone, as evident in the double peak break up mode. This should be a popular driver, both as a midwoofer and a midrange.
Lots of detail, and bass coming out of that little driver. System HD plots show an average of under 0.3% over most of the frequency range, and the 2nd HD actually goes down at higher excitations. Whoever designed these appears to be quite talented, and spent some quality time on the Klippel analyzer it seems…”
